though sad to hear of Imamura's passing.
there are scenes from The Eel and Ballad of Narayama that I find myself returning to with quasi-obsessional regularity, though I have seen neither in a while.
perhaps today? a horrible humid hot day in NYC ( a bit like Tokyo in Stray Dogs maybe? ) but if i were to watch Ballad of Narayama i'm almost certain i'd get chills, be below freezing.
