hacia la multitud
Because it seems the thing to do (plenty more here), and having been a little more critical over on Posthegemony, a snippet from Pablo Neruda, specifically (almost) the end of his monumental Canto General:
Yo no voy a morirme. Salgo ahora,
En este día lleno de volcanes
Hacia la multitud, hacia la vida.
Aquí dejo arregladas estas cosas[. . .]
Por fin, soy libre adentro de los seres.
Entre los seres, como el aire vivo,
y de la soledad acorralada
salgo a la multitud de los combates,
libre porque en mi mano va tu mano,
conquistando alegrías indomables. (478)
I have a framed print with the first three lines of this quotation (and also an image that combines a volcano with Neruda's own famous capped silhouette) in my office. It's a print I bought at La Sebastiana, Neruda's house in Valparaiso. I like it a lot.

That's a nice reading on your site, Jon, and thanks for this. A Neruda meme every two years a fine thing, imho (god, has it really been that long?)
Though a little surprised how few these posts mention the Stalin thing.
Currently reading and enjoying Roberto Bolano, who is brutal, Sartrien and funny, and much else of the "McOndo" movement, also good. Hybrid nostalgias and the faith of storytelling...
