Learning to love the bomb

David B.'s La Bombe Familiale as translated by Edward Gauvin for Words Without Borders.

On another note:  a video of Derrida's speech from October 2004 on the 50th anniversary of Le Monde Diplomatique.  He touches especially on the theme of a "New International" among others mentioned in this post.

So much for phenomenology, or Lit., or the "nothing but text" jazz: ICBMs--those objects given the names of Minuteman III or Topol-M--will do fine as a sort of philosopher's suppository: jawohl, an ICBM buttplug for Kant.

Suggestion, connotation, metaphor, postmod poetics are hardly sufficient for taking on nuclear proliferation. There's no mystery poetics, nor hermeneutics. Derridean concepts help the right, regardless of JD's "real" intentions.

De nada. That said, I did enjoy the phrenchie bomb manga (tho' Moebius did similar stuff 20 years ago). Manga may be, like, as politically efficacious as philosophy, postmodernist or otherwise, perhaps--or poetics. I wager there are still some in consumer land who might prefer a George Grosz to Herr Heidegger. Or was Groszian jazz excommunicated by Adorno or some stalinist scribe as well.
